BIG BROTHER IN OUR HOMES

This article tells us that the so-called smart appliance is a step nearer. Slowly we seem to be heading for an electricity system in which our usage is to be closely monitored. Have those advocating this system thought about how it could be sabotaged by clever computer experts. What if the public don't purchase new appliances, or even by-pass the smart chip?

BOOKER GIVES THE GOVERNMENT A WITHERING BLAST

This is Booker's latest column in the Telegraph in which he rightly shows up the lunacy at the heart of government energy policy. Peter Lilley is still a lone voice of sanity in the government. As the facts continue to part company with the theory he will surely be joined by others.

EXPERTS FALL FOR SCIENTIFIC SCAM

<This is the extraordinary story of the man who sold fake bomb detectors to governments around the world. In doing so he fooled some so-called experts in the field. Of course he had lots of glossy brochures and impressive videos to back up his claims for the device, but how extraordinary that no one thought to subject it to any sort of test which would have found it to be useless. I can't help but draw a parallel here with the global warming claims of catastrophic warming caused by CO2 emissions. If our governments can be fooled so easily, what hope have we that it could not happen in any other area as well?

THE ILLUSION OF REALITY

Here is a very interesting article which reveals the true life experiences of a psychologist. Although his experience relates to the world of army recruits as well as finance, the conclusions are very relevant to climate scientists, in particular over-confidence in results.

UK CLIMATE CHANGE COMMITTEE LOOKS AT REDUCING CO2 FROM IMPORTED GOODS

Here is another excellent piece from the Scientific Alliance. Apparently the great minds of the CCC have concluded that while the UK has cut its CO2 emissions from what it produces and consumes internally, if the CO2 used to make what it imports is taken into account then its overall CO2 emissions is actually increasing. Of course they can't easily do anything about that without imposing import duties and starting a damaging trade war. So they will want to keep quiet about it and not let the people realise the whole policy is a pointless and costly charade. Unfortunately for them, the people are starting to find out!

UK PUBLIC WARMS TO SHALE GAS

This article shows some survey results into the public's attitude to shale gas. They show an increasingly positive attitude as they understand the financial benefits of fracking.

THE DEBATE ON MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING

Here is an article which refers to a report by a respected Scandinavian organisation. While the whole report is quite long it provides quite a balanced view.

GERMANS DASH FOR COAL, WITHOUT CARBON CAPTURE

The Germans may have a strong green movement, but their government is not going to allow that to stop them from keeping the lights on. This article looks at the rapid increase in the use of coal and gas fired power stations to replace the phased out nuclear ones. Interestingly they are not requiring new fossil fuel stations to capture their carbon emissions, unlike the ridiculous UK government.

A VOICE OF REASON IN THE BRITISH PARLIAMENT

Here's a report of one MP, Peter Lilley, who is not afraid to speak his mind to his colleagues on the shortcomings of the government's climate policy. Sadly his words seem to be falling on deaf ears.

PAUSE IN GLOBAL WARMING BAFFLES SCIENTISTS WORLDWIDE

This article in the Daily Mail highlights the problem for climate scientists. How long will this pause last and how long will it be before the public and the politicians lose faith in the theory of man made global warming?

PUBLIC TURNING AGAINST CLIMATE POLICY

This article looks at how the people are slowly turning against climate change policies as they see both their cost and the fact that they lack credibility.

MEPs GIVE SERIOUS BLOW TO EU EMISSIONS SCHEME

Yes, they did it. MEPs finally (by a small majority) voted to stop increasing the cost of emitting CO2. You can read the details here. Does it mean the our MEPs are at last realising that high energy prices are making our recession even harder to escape from? We will have to wait and see how our masters in the EU get this over-turned.

KEYSTONE OIL PIPELINE DECISION STILL UNCERTAIN

This article looks at the safety of the oil pipeline compared with the alternative of rail transport. While no transport system is fool proof, the pipeline is clearly more economic.

IS THE EU ABOUT TO ABANDON ITS EMISSION TRADING SCHEME?

This article explains the decision to be made by the EU parliament tomorrow. Will common sense prevail? Don't hold your breath!

EPA DELAYS NEW CO2 EMISSION LAWS

Here is the story. It seems that they are worried about the consequences and all the legal wrangling.

AUSSIE CLIMATE RENT SEEKERS

This article from the redoubtable Donna La Framboise looks at the huge cost of governments attending the climate change conferences. What a shocking waste of taxpayers money.

IS FRACKING BEING SABOTAGED IN THE UK?

Here is an interesting piece looking at the long list of delays to the progress of fracking for various spurious reasons, the latest of which is to prevent disturbance to birds - despite the fact that the drilling site is located adjacent to a large brickworks. You couldn't make it up! The country seems to be trying to achieve against the meddling of government.

WEATHER IS NOT CLIMATE

This article by Matt Ridley points out the way in which proponents of catastrophic global warming deliberately confuse weather with climate. There can be no doubt that the variations in weather are much more serious than the very modest adjustments to the climate.

MARGARET THATCHER - A WARMIST TURNED SCEPTIC

It is with great sadness that I learnt of the death of Margaret Thatcher, one of our greatest Prime Ministers. Here is an article from 2010 which shows that, though an early proponent of man made global warming, she also became an early sceptic of the hypothesis. This shows that even great people can be convinced of something that is flawed, but it also shows that she was able to change her mind when she became aware of contrary evidence.

NOAA URGES TEACHERS TO DECEIVE KIDS ON OCEAN ACIDIFICATION

This article looks at the dishonest suggestions being urged on teachers. In the end this kind of behaviour will prove to be counter-productive to their own cause.

ITALIAN "KING OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY" HAS ASSETS SEIZED

It may not actually be a crime to deal in green energy, but it certainly seems to be attractive to some less scrupulous businessmen. See this article for details of someone with alleged mafia links who seems to have done rather well out of it.

USA GAS PRICES FOUR TIMES CHEAPER THAN EU

This piece looks at the effect of the dramatic difference in energy costs in the USA compared to the EU. Unless the EU or the UK wakes up it will find a large portion of its industry has gone west.

PEAK OIL IS AN ARTIFICIAL CEILING IMPOSED BY A LACK OF IMAGINATION

This article sums up the current situation regarding the world's oil resources, and it predicts a bright future as long as we continue to innovate. The current situation in the UK and the EU is a self-imposed denial of cheap abundant energy. When the rest of the world has shown us what we should have been doing, we will belatedly wake up.

WILL WE ALL FALL THROUGH THE CARBON FLOOR?

How fitting that the UK government should introduce the unique Carbon Floor tax on April Fool's Day. This article in the Scotsman sums up the folly of it very well. There seems to be no answer to the question - why inflict an extra burden on a faltering economy? I notice that while the reductions in welfare payments, which also come into effect today, were given very prominent coverage on the news, the new energy tax did not even get a mention. And yet this carbon floor tax will cause more poverty than all the welfare cuts put together as businesses close or move abroad.
