BEWARE THE BEHAVIOURAL INSIGHTS TEAM (BIT)

The BIT, also known as the Nudge Unit is a body which is tasked by the government to change our behaviour by teaming up with the media to put out articles to get us to follow their preferred actions.

A report by the BIT in collaboration with Sky TV called "The Power of TV: Nudging Viewers to Decarbonise their Lifestyles" says: "Behavioural change on climate can be driven by TV..... experts now widely accept we must shift the behaviour of millions of people to deliver our collective net zero goals."

There is something rather sinister about the idea of broadcasters plotting to manipulate the public into reaching "our collective goals". Whose goals are they? Why is there no questioning of whether this is in the population's best interests or not? Where are the alternative points of view?

It looks very likely that the BIT is involved in the sudden change in TV weather maps, from pale greens and yellows to vivid reds and deep purples. Even the Foreign Office has now added an "Extreme Weather" section to update the Greece and Spain information, detailing how to stay safe during the heatwave, as though we are travelling to a war zone.

If the weather was so bad you would not expect anyone to want to to there, and yet despite all this the resorts are packed with tourists, keen to escape from the damp and overcast British weather.

The BIT have over-reached with their lurid weather maps and their brazen attempt to get us to cancel our summer hols. Rebellion is stirring. People are mocking.

"In Cyprus, we're just about holding our own", report one ironic holiday-maker".

"Locals simply call it summer, but what would they now?" says another pool-side sun-worshiper.

AVERAGE UK TEMPERATURES HAVE NOT INCREASED OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS

The headline has been disputed by someone at news agency Reuters, who have relied on information from the Met Office. The dispute is answered by Paul Homewood as follows:

“If UK temperatures in the last 20 years were increasing as rapidly as the Met Office suggest, it should be obvious from their own data. Yet according to the Met Office’s State of UK Climate 2022 report, published today, UK temperature between 1998 and 2007 averaged 9.35°C, compared to 9.44°C between 2013 and 2022, a statistically insignificant change.”

BATTERY BREAKDOWN - BEWARE THE DANGERS!

There is growing concern over the rise in fatalities, injuries and devastating fires from electric bikes (e-bikes) and electric scooters (e-scooters). These are lithium-ion batteries which are widely used in many other devices. Clearly this is a major concern as we move to use more and more battery devices.

GW DATA SO UNCERTAIN THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE RATE OR MAGNITUDE

The compilation of land- and sea-surface [thermometer] uncertainty yield a 1900-2010 global air-temperature record anomaly of 0.86 ± 1.92°C (2 σ), which renders impossible any conclusion regarding the rate or magnitude of climate warming since 1850 or earlier.” – Dr. Patrick Frank (2023)

METHANE: NOT A PROBLEM FOR GLOBAL WARMING

While not as pronounced as carbon dioxide’s drop off in heating effect with concentration, the effect is still there such that at the current concentration of 1.9 ppm, each extra 0.1 ppm heats the atmosphere by 0.05°C. With the methane concentration currently rising by 0.1 ppm every 20 years, the atmosphere will get an extra 0.2°C of heating by 2100.

Methane: Much Ado About Nothing • Watts Up With That?

And yet:

In a remarkable display of ignorance towards the very thing they propose to ‘save’, thirteen nations, including the United States, have entered into a pact that is effectively a death knell to agriculture. They have agreed to stymie food production by closing farms to reduce “methane emissions”, in a bid to combat so-called ‘global warming’.

HEATWAVE CLIMATE PROPAGANDA EXPOSED

Two excellent pieces below expose the rear-mongering coverage by the TV news and weather slots when dealing with the recent hot weather experienced in Europe. I think the public are now getting wise to this and it is being treated as a joke by many, but their laughter will turn to anger when they learn the cost to them of the government's policies which they claim will stop the climate extremes (cue more ironic laughter).

In the video Neil Oliver deals with a number of other issues including COVID and the Ukraine crisis which means less of a focus on the climate propaganda issue which starts 4 minutes in, but his words still ring true.

DUTCH ELECTION WILL BE A REFERENDUM ON THE GREEN AGENDA

As the climate change policies start to bear down on the people, we are beginning to see a backlash against it, as my recent posts have shown. This looks like coming to a head in Holland in November where they are holding a national election. The people are rallying behind a new political movement started by some farmers.

UK OFFSHORE WIND UNECONOMIC AS LATEST PROJECT CANCELLED

If wind power is the future, then the future is looking bleak, or at least very costly for us all. When will our leading politicians wake up to reality, instead of putting their heads in the sand and pretending that we will all get to net zero by 2050 and everything will be fine.

It's as if the country is suffering from a terminal illness and no one has the courage to say the treatment is not working. However the patient is now beginning to realise, but who can they turn to?

NEW SCIENTIFIC PAPER SHOWS RAINFALL IS NOT INCREASING IN INTENSITY

A new satellite study of rainfall suggests that in the last 20 years the intensity of rainfall has mysteriously declined a little in most places. This is despite predictions it would increase, and CO2 itself rising by 41ppm globally during the same period.

By 2001 humans had cumulatively produced 291,000 Mt of carbon from fossil fuels, and cement production, but by 2020 our total cumulative emissions amounted to 470,000 Mt. (CDIAC data). So from 2001-2020, mankind produced 179,000 Mt of carbon or 38% of all-time homo sapiens emissions. Converting pure carbon to CO2 that means humans have emitted 656,000 Mt of CO2 yet seen either a decline or no trend at all in rainfall intensity.

Global CO2 rose from 371ppm in 2001 all the way to 414ppm in 2020. All the scare stories we are shown daily of floods across the world are simply part of the weather we have always experienced and always will.

UN CLAIMS CLIMATE CHANGE IS CAUSING WORLD HUNGER AS RECORD HARVESTS ARE ANNOUNCED

London, 15 June - Net Zero Watch has criticised the UN and news media for claiming that 'climate change is pushing millions of people into hunger,' a claim widely reported in the media.

A new UN report, “The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2023”, claims that 122 million more people are facing hunger than in 2019, and that global food insecurity has worsened in recent years due to the pandemic and repeated weather shocks and conflicts, including the war in Ukraine.

Whilst Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine have both disrupted food supplies and pushed up energy and food inflation, it is not true that food production is declining because of extreme weather events.

Even Pakistan, which was affected by severe flooding last year, has just reported a record harvest.

The UN's climate claims are also contradicted by its own data, which shows worldwide food production continuing to climb. New records were set in 2021 for cereal output and the value of agricultural production. Last year recorded the second highest cereal production on record, and this year is now forecast to set yet another new record for wheat.

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 7 July 2023

According to the new report's methodology, the UN's claims are not based on actual data at all. Their index for hunger is derived from computer modelling, while their measure for food insecurity is calculated from household surveys.

Climate researcher, Paul Homewood, comments:

“The Director of the UN's Food & Agriculture Organisation has remarked that the world's food systems could entirely collapse. This is grossly irresponsible and a complete denial of the remarkable success of the world's agricultural industry.

If the UN is concerned about world hunger, maybe they should call a halt to all of the agricultural Net Zero and rewilding projects being undertaken in Europe and elsewhere, all in the name of climate change”

NATURAL DISASTERS ARE NOT INCREASING SAYS RESEARCH BODY THAT RECORDS THEM

A body which does research and collects data on extreme weather events,The Centre of Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters, known as CRED, has just made a statement which tells us what has always been obvious, but was ignored to enable the media to claim that extreme climate events were increasing in number. The statement is set out here in this article:

CRED Finally Admit There Never Was An Increase In Natural Disasters | NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT (wordpress.com)

It is communication technology which is responsible for the reporting of more disasters, not any change in the climate. But I doubt if this statement will put a stop to the endless propaganda. The statement will simply be ignored and buried.

Clearly the public has decided that their top story is not the same as the BBC thinks. I may be wrong, but I think the public are fed up with the incessant propaganda on climate change.

A SLIGHTLY WARMER CLIMATE IS MUCH BETTER THAN COOLING

Those who believe we must reverse the trend towards a small warming of our climate should be careful what they wish for. It is simply not possible to control the climate with any precision, even if we tried. The idea that if we were to somehow lower the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from the present level of around 0.042% to 0.028%(which it was, allegedly, in 1850) that we would end up with a perfect climate, is complete nonsense. There are so many natural variables, some of which we know very little about, which have an equal or greater effect than CO2, that we have no hope whatsoever of controlling the climate. In any case there are so many different climates that a change which might improve one climate would adversely affect others.

Here is a very interesting article which looks at the great benefit of a warming world on humanity over the recent past:

THE CHURCH OF CLIMATOLOGY AND SELF-CENSORSHIP

What lies at the heart of the climate change issue?  At first there was a small group of scientists who put forward a hypothesis that CO2 was going to cause a serious problem of warming. Then this got taken up by a variety of influential politicians and people with a vested interest who promoted it. Very soon the media decided to report it in a one-sided fashion, denying anyone the opportunity to make a reasoned challenge to either the science or the very costly policy of decarbonising the nation.

We have now reached the point where in many situations people who privately disagree with aspects of the policy decide to keep their views to themselves in order not to lose their job, or chance of promotion, or become an “outcast” in society. Let's be clear, there is massive social pressure to conform.

Money is at the root of it, as it is with any widespread idea or belief. The climate change phenomenon is much more akin to a religion, whereby the censorship is done voluntarily.

Anything which is forced upon people is only tolerated so long as it is not too uncomfortable. So far the public have not been exposed to much discomfort at all, but the time is rapidly approaching when governments will have to make some very uncomfortable decisions. Certainly by 2030 this will come.

Meanwhile the media are complicit in ramping up the fear as much as they can.

WORLD IS NOT BURNING UP - DON'T FALL FOR THE HYPE

It’s summer, so inevitably some places are hot! But Justin Rowlatt of the BBC wants you to focus on those and ignore all the other places that aren’t.

The full picture tells a totally different story. Across the world as a whole, there is the usual mix of above and below temperatures. The only exception is Antarctica, It is of course winter down under, and temperatures in and around Antarctica are still well below freezing, even though they may be 10C higher than average. So the world is not burning up, it is just another mix of weather.

ANOTHER NOBEL PRIZE WINNING SCIENTIST SPEAKS OUT AS A CLIMATE SCEPTIC

There have been a lot of prominent scientists who have spoken out against the idea that we are facing a "climate emergency". Hardly any scientists are household names, but those who have been given the highest honours, such as the Nobel prize deserve to be listened to. In fact, if this were really a debate about science, they would be listened to by our national leaders. You would have thought that the media would also be keen to report the thoughts of such prominent people. The fact that this does not happen should give us all a reason to reflect on why this is so. The answer is that this has now been turned into something very like a religion, where questioning it is forbidden.

BEST TO STICK WITH PETROL CARS - I'M WITH MATT RIDLEY

The article below gives the many good reasons why we should not risk buying an EV (electric vehicle) The rush to electric vehicles risks killing our car industry, shackling us to China and bumping up our taxes to reduce global emissions by just 0.044%. It is even possible that we could replace all of Britain’s cars and vans with electric vehicles and still find that carbon dioxide emissions are higher, not lower. Read all the details here:

Why I'll be buying a brand new petrol car just before the 2030 ban, says MATT RIDLEY | Daily Mail Online

Just as producers need taxpayer subsidies to supply electric cars, consumers need subsidies to buy them. An industry dependent on taxpayer support at both ends of the chain is not sustainable.

Nor can Britain’s electricity infrastructure be adapted easily or quickly to cope with the extra demand implied by the transition — without further subsidies. The whole policy simply does not make sense. The people simply won't buy it, or at least not in the numbers the government is hoping. So what will happen then? Will the government back-track and allow fossil fuel cars to continue? Doubtful, as this will be a massive u-turn and lead to a complete loss of all credibility. So we are on a course leading to disaster with no way out. People will cling on to their old vehicles as long as possible and the car industry in the UK will die.

GLOBAL TEMPERATURE - A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

With all the fuss in the media about the global temperature, someone sent me the link below which takes you to a very interesting website which shows measurements of global temperatures calculated by averaging readings from thousands of weather stations around the world. Of course I have no way of verifying the accuracy of these measurements, and I do not know how they are spread across the globe, but they do represent how these measurements have changed since the project began.

There is no way of accurately measuring the global temperature, as it varies from place to place and minute by minute, so even the best scientists can only measure the change in temperature.

CUTTING NATURAL GAS AND OIL PRODUCTION WOULD BE DANGEROUS

There is a huge cost of transitioning away from fossil fuels by 2050 and people are only now beginning to realise this. We need more leaders to speak out now before more extensive damage is done by moving too far too quickly away from the fuel source which has transformed the world into the comfortable and enjoyable place that much of it has become today.

Look around the world today and the real cause of misery and despair is not the climate, it is either war, or poverty.

Increased demand from China and a cold winter in Europe could push energy prices and bills higher again, and will lead to the cost of living shooting up again.

Mr Sawan, the boss of Shell,  said an international bidding war for gas last year saw poorer countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh unable to afford liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments that were instead diverted to Northern Europe.

"They took away LNG from those countries and children had to work and study by candlelight," he said. "If we’re going to have a transition it needs to be a just transition that doesn’t just work for one part of the world."

FIFTH HOTTEST EVER JUNE IN UK

That doesn't quite have the same ring to it, but it is a factually honest statement as shown by this article:

Hottest Evah June! | NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT (wordpress.com)

What the Met Office conveniently "forgot" was that there is a list of UK temperature data going back much further called the Central England Temperature (CET) record. In that much longer record it can be seen that what happened in June was not a record at all, it was simply an unusual variation in our weather.

This is yet another attempt at propaganda to convince the uninformed public that the planet is warming at a dramatic rate. It is fortunate that some people still have access to these records, still unaltered by those who wish to wipe out the past, for now.

CLIMATE MODELS FOUND TO BE SERIOUSLY FLAWED

The world’s climate policies are based on computer simulations of the atmosphere that are thoroughly flawed. That’s the conclusion of a new paper published by Net Zero Watch.

The paper, by US climate writer Willis Eschenbach, describes the results of a review of the computer code inside NASA’s Model E climate simulation. It shows that, far from being based on basic physics, in many places the model incorporates crude corrections to make the output look vaguely reasonable.

82% FOSSIL FUELS STILL POWERS THE WORLD

Despite the green revolution, and record energy use, the world still runs on 82% fossil fuels « JoNova (joannenova.com.au)

Total renewables is 7.5% of “Primary Energy” but includes biomass, geothermal, and tidal etc (but not hydro). Stripping away the “other renewables” leaves wind + solar at 6.1%. Wind power now (theoretically) makes 3.75% of total global primary energy. Solar makes 2.4%. This is an incredible statistic that most people would not believe, but it is a fact. There is no way we will reach net zero by 2050. It is simply a non-starter, as these figures show.
