Labour won the election on a clear promise to tackle the “underlying causes” of the cost-of-living crisis and bring energy bills down. Clean Power 2030 (CP30) - Ed Miliband’s mission to decarbonise the electricity grid over the next five years - was sold as the policy to deliver those savings, with repeated claims it would cut costs by £300 and “lower bills for good”.

A MILLION BATS - THE PRICE OF WIND ENERGY

An annual figure of around one million bats are killed in the countries with the highest number of turbines, but harmful effects are seen in many other parts of the ecosystem. The number of top predators such as jaguars, jungle cats and golden jackals can be changed by turbines in tropical forest gaps, leading to the “possibility for cascading effects” along similar latitudinal levels.

CLIMATE SCIENTISTS RIDICULOUS PREDICTIONS

Next time we see on the news that we are about to reach a climate "tipping point" we should look back a few years to see what previous scientists have got wrong. One of the classics is this one about an ice-free Arctic in summer. Al Gore was very keen to promote this idea, but he does not seem so scary today when it can be seen just how wrong he (and the scientists who informed him) was. These clearly ridiculous predictions are never mentioned in the mainstream media, but the public aren't fooled - they are now much more sceptical and rightly so.

The study scrutinizes the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) hypothesis, which attributes all observed warming solely to human-caused GHG emissions. Using satellite data from the CERES program and Ocean Heat Content (OHC) data from the ARGO float program, the author analyzed the Earth’s Top of Atmosphere (TOA) radiation imbalance—the net energy flux into the Earth’s thermal system. By comparing observed energy trends with theoretical forcings, the study concludes that natural factors play a significant and dominant role in the warming observed since the mid-1970s.

The UK Government can go on for another almost 4 years before another General Election, so it is strange that the Party's most successful Leader is now calling for it to water-down its leading policy. The Labour government is already so unpopular that it has just lost one of its safest seats in a by-election. They will not abandon net zero, but they will stop talking about it and try to bring it forward by stealth. But they will find it impossible because it is enshrined in law and they will be called out by the Climate Change Committee and the various green organisations.

90% OF AIR-BORNE MATERIAL IS NATURAL

There is a drive among environmentalists (who are now a massive number of people in local and national government) to persuade the public that all our problems are a result of mankind and if only we would stop polluting the air everything would be fine. In fact there are a vast range of natural pollutants which we can do nothing about, as this extract from Wikipedia explains 

"Human-made (anthropogenic) aerosols account for about 10 percent of the total mass of aerosols in the atmosphere as estimated in 2010. The remaining 90 percent comes from natural sources such as volcanoes, dust storms, forest and grassland fires, living vegetation and sea spray, emitting particulates such as volcanic ash, desert dust, soot and sea salt".  [Particulate matter - Wikipedia ]

They could have included pollen and spores from bacteria yeasts and mould which we know are harmful. It is this lack of balance that is misleading. Human pollution has decreased a huge amount during the past 50 years or so and yet there is more emphasis than ever on reducing our now small contribution further, which comes at an ever increasing cost.

MET OFFICE TRY TO DESTROY THEIR OWN FAKE DATA

The UK Met Office have been under increasing scrutiny over that last year or so. Their chief tormentor, Ray Sanders, has been gathering more and more evidence that much of their temperature data has been fabricated. As the net has tightened they have resorted to try and prevent him from uncovering the truth by banning him from using the Freedom of Information Act to ask awkward questions. Now, in a desperate (but ultimately futile) effort to hide their malpractice they have removed large chunks of the fabricated data from their website. They have done this because they know that the pretence of claiming that the data has been calculated from "well correlated" nearby stations is simply fiction.

The deletion of material from a website does not make it disappear as copies of the original are still retrievable. It doesn't end there because this fabricated data has been used to produce the evidence of rapid warming, and so this must also be seen to be altered, if not discarded, as it is tainted by the now obliterated fake data.

They must now be made to own up to what has been going on. How this can be achieved remains to be seen.

CLIMATE MODELS FOUND TO BE WRONG AGAIN

Climate models provide much of the evidence used to show that there is a "climate emergency" and that drastic and very costly measures must be taken to prevent it. However, many times these models have been shown to greatly exaggerate the situation. Here is another example:

The record was just over 93,000 in April 2024, but in September I had 276,238. I do wonder where the traffic comes from, particularly since Google has decided not to help anyone find the blog.
