Geo-engineering involves some way of blocking out some sunlight from reaching the Earth's surface to cool it. The problem is that the nations of the world might not agree whether they want it cooled, or by how much. And how can the people carrying out the research know how effective (or not) their methods will be. People are, rightly, worried about these experiments.
Natural changes can be harmful, but there is little we can do about nature. Instead we have to adapt as best we can.
