I can now reveal that I have been investigated (at considerable taxpayers expense) over allegations that I failed to register interests in so-called "bodies" in connection with the campaign to keep Al Gore's film out of schools. The complaint was made by a political opponent whose only "evidence" was an article in a newspaper linking me with a website straightteaching, and a small political party called the New Party. I believe his real objection was not about me registering an interest, but about my views of the Al Gore film and global warming alarmism.
The investigation by a barrister has cleared me of any wrong-doing. The case has resulted in considerable local publicity, which has highlighted further the importance of keeping political balance in schools - for which I must thank the complainant. For those who have an odd hour to spare the whole report is available here.
This site is a reference point for those with a cool head for climate science, arguably the most political science ever. When the government and most of the media concentrate on alarmism, this site is the antidote for those who don't believe the scare stories - YOU ARE NOT ALONE! (blog started on 7/11/07) We have over 2 million hits and blog is updated regularly most weeks.

WHER DO THE LEADING NATIONS STAND ON GW?
This article gives a simple guide to where they currently stand ahead of talks to get a new treaty in place by 2009 to replace Kyoto. Unless the West cave in and let the developing nations off the hook, it is looking as though no progress will be made. I expect some sort of partial cave in will occur and a Kyoto mark two will emerge promising fantastic cuts in CO2 in the future when all the current leaders have long left the scene. Even though the targets will never be met we will all feel the pain nevertheless.

UN CARBON CREDIT PROGRAMME WASTES $BILLIONS
Here is a report which shows how GW "prevention" schemes are leading to fraud and waste costing the West billions of dollars while making hardly any difference to carbon emissions. This confirms the predictions of many, including Lord Lawson.
CARBON RATIONING - A STEP TOO FAR
Even the government has baulked at the idea of introducing personal carbon rationing. This report says that they regard it as too complex, and unfair. Such a scheme would also be unworkable and if implemented soon lead to a government becoming extremely unpopular, especially if it coincided with a recession; not to mention cooler weather!

10,000 VISITORS TO THIS BLOG!
This week this site has reached 10,000 visitors. It is small by comparison with the major sites, but with very limited publicity I am very pleased that I have reached this small milestone. Please come again - and tell a friend!
ROYAL SOCIETY TRIES TO STIFLE DEBATE ON GW
This article in the New York Sun explains how the Royal Society, a UK body that is supposed to promote the highest ideals of science, has adopted a totally one-sided approach to global warming. While it might be understandable that the mainstream media wants to promote an alarmist message (as it wants dramatic news to attract the viewer), the Royal Society should always be open to any genuine scientific research whatever its conclusion. On the other hand, the question of where it gets its funding needs to be asked. If it's the government, which I believe it is, then their independence must be very questionable.

DISTRIBUTION OF NON-ALARMIST VIEWS TO SCHOOLS CAUSES CONTROVERSY
This report from the Canada Free Press explains how GW alarmists have tried to ridicule the information sent to Canadian schools about alternative explanations to the message of man-made CO2 being the cause. The propaganda war goes on.

US OIL NOT EXPLOITED DUE TO GOVERNMENT HOLDING BACK
This article in the Washington Times explains how lack of drive by the US government is leading to a shortage of wells coming on-stream, even though the reserves are there, they are not being exploited. A case of fiddling while the oil runs out.

FINANCIAL POST SERIES - THE DENIERS
This multi-part series can all be accessed from this link. A lot of information for those who enjoy a read. This excellent series covers many of the scare stories with counter arguments by eminent scientists (the "deniers").
My thanks to a reader for pointing out that there is a book about the series available here.

LESS HURRICANES IN A WARMER WORLD
New research shows that contrary to what was previously thought, warmer weather will lead to a lower frequency of hurricanes, though they may be of slightly greater intensity.

OILSEED RAPE - FOR AND AGAINST
This article from the Daily Mail gives a balanced look at the growing of this bio-fuel crop. The arguments are finely balanced, and in a free market it should be the farmers decision. But with increasing interference by governments and the EU it can be argued we no longer have free markets. The problem with state intervention is - where should they stop? Global warming gives the state more opportunities to intervene than ever before, and it looks as though the state is going to take it.

OH NO! - FAT PEOPLE BLAMED FOR GW
The latest piece of nonsense coming from the alarmists can be read here - if you need to read it.

ENERGY SUBSIDIES - MORE INFO FROM USA
This article in the Wall Street Journal presses home the point about the appalling cost in government subsidies that we are all paying, and for what?

32,000 SCIENTISTS SAY NO CONSENSUS
This National Post article should once and for all dispel the myth that there is consensus among scientists about CO2 causing catastrophic global warming.

NEW BJORN LOMBORG INTERVIEW
This inerview with Bjorn Lomborg is in the National Review. Bjorn does not deny global warming, or that man made CO2 is partly causing it, but he says that the hysterical obsession with trying to tackle it is at the expense of not tackling other more urgent problems. It is a very powerful argument.

WHEN BUREAUCRACY GOES MAD
This article from the EU Referendum Blog explains how the EU is making car CO2 emissions standards so stringent that they will be unachievable, leading to manufacturers having to pay penalties to the EU for every car sold. A nice little earner!

COST OF COMBATING GW
This article from the Canadian Financial Post gives an insight as to how we are viewed by other nations. It looks as though they think we are being ripped of by our government - no surprise there then!On the same theme here is another article, also from Canada.

US MEDIA DISTORTS CLIMATE NEWS
This article in the American Thinker explains how reporting of the dangers of flooding due to melting of the snow from the higher than average snow fall was under-reported as it did not fit the grand narrative of global warming. How sad!

GREENS' MESSAGE LOSING GROUND
This article in the Independent shows how the public are being turned off by the constant hike in costs and taxes being put forward to "save the planet". If the planet keeps refusing to heat up they will look increasingly out of touch.

SAHARA DRIED OUT SLOWLY - NEW STUDY
This report explains that the Sahara Desert formed over thousands of years. Similar natural changes may happen to other parts of the planet. Climate change is a natural thing that has always happened.

ARCTIC WARMING NATURALLY DUE TO OCEAN CURRENTS
This article explains how the Arctic is warming more quickly than predicted by computer models. Scientists are now able to explain that this is due to ocean currents. This of course is a natural process, nothing to do with man's emission of CO2.

MODELS WRONG ABOUT ANTARCTICA
This study confirms that the computer models, relied on to prove that global warming is catastrophic, have been wildly inaccurate in their prediction of warming in the Antarctic. This is in line with other studies, and is cause for concern over the use of computer models to predict long-term climate.

MASSIVE COST TO ALL OF US OF COMBATING GW
This report in the Daily Express reveals the true cost of the government signing up to reduce our CO2 emisssions. These are the figures the government don't want you to see. They hope that you will somehow not notice as bills keep rising, or that you will blame "world conditions" beyond our control.

RISING COSTS THREATEN UK WIND FARM PROGRAMME
This report in the Telegraph gives the details. It looks as though the government are in real trouble, as predicted many times. Trying to remove carbon from an economy is a very expensive business, and politicians need to get re-elected.

MORE PROBLEMS WITH COMPUTER MODELS
This time it's the Antarctic that's not behaving as the models predict. Computer models are fallible and it would be madness to spend billions on the strength of them.

NO MORE GW UNTIL 2020
This report gives a pause until 2020. Surely all the computer models will so out of date by then, that they will need to start again.

COMMON SENSE FROM NZ HERALD
This article talks about New Zealand, but equally applies to the UK, or any other developed country. It says we should pause before implementing the draconian measures to cut CO2, and take a good look at the emerging science. Governments need to be clear to their citizens exactly what their proposals will cost and what the benefits are expected to be.

COUNCIL LEADER A CLIMATE REALIST
This article gives details. What is interesting about this, is that we have a council leader supported by his group who feels able to state a realistic position on the subject. His political opponents have done their best to discredit him. It will be interesting to see if any more come forward.

3 CHEERS FOR BORIS
Here in this excellent article are many good reasons to be cheerful about Boris Johnson being elected Mayor of London. First it proves that it is possible to be sceptical of the current theory and be elected, in spite of your scepticism being put clearly before the voters.
This should encourage the many other climate sceptics to say what they think. Let's hope that, having won, Boris is going to continue to cut back on Livingstone's excessive policies in this area. He has already pledged to scrap the outrageous £25 per day charge on the vehicles emitting the highest CO2 levels which would be an excellent start.

BARRETTBELLAMYCLIMATE
I have recently come across this site and although it has some challenging science, it also succeeds in explaining a lot of it rather well. I have added a permanent reference to it on the side bar links. There is a lot of interesting material on the site and I recommend it.
SHELL TRIES TO SELL ITS STAKE IN WORLD'S LARGEST WIND FARM
This article in the Daily Mail seems to indicate cold feet over the project as costs keep rising and the Earth keeps cooling. Can the government be trusted to keep its cash handouts going as finances get tighter?

CAMPAIGN TO SUE AL GORE UNDERWAY
This report gives the details. I await the case with eager anticipation. I hope they will be as successful as the court case here in the UK against showing his film to schools.

NEW COMPUTER MODEL PREDICTS GW TO STOP UNTIL 2015
This Telegraph report explains the inherent weakness of climate modelling with computers. Every time they do it and it doesn't turn out as predicted it weakens the argument for accepting them. The public are already getting one step ahead of the "experts". If only the politicians would catch on!
TOP US SCIENTIST IN JOB THREAT OVER GW VIEWS
This article explains how William Grey, a world leader in hurricane forecasting was put under pressure for his sceptic views on climate change.
