NEW NASA DATA BLOWS A HOLE IN CLIMATE ALARMISM

This report about new research by NASA scientists led by Dr Roy Spencer looks at the amount of heat escaping from Earth and finds that it is much greater than that being input into the alarmists computer programmes.

SO MUCH FOR CHINA'S GREEN CREDENTIALS

This report puts China's renewable energy in perspective. So when you next hear a politician making out that China is leading the way in reducing carbon emissions, just remember the truth is rather different.

GREEN TARGETS WILL FORCE COMPANIES TO LEAVE UK

This report reinforces what many already believe - that the high UK energy costs will cause some industries to leave the UK.

HUHNE TILTING AT WINDMILLS

UK Environment Minister Chris Huhne has odered an inquiry into the behaviour of Conservative MEP's according to this Guardian report. Apparently he believes they have all been influenced by "big oil". Seems he just cannot believe that they could simply think a 30% target for CO2 reduction was just not in the interest of the people of the EU, or the UK.

VENICE WILL SURVIVE AFTER ALL!

Despite reports by the IPCC that Venice is under threat from sea level rise, this report refers to a recent study that says it is not.

US SHALE GAS BOOM IS A GAME CHANGER

This report shows just how big the shale gas industry is in the USA and how long it is likely to last. It not only has big implications for the USA but also a knock on effect in Europe, and that is before any account of European shale gas is factored in. It seems to make wind farms seem like white elephants. It seems hard to believe how wrong and foolish our own energy policy looks.

ROCK BAND GOES CARBON POSITIVE

Here's (scroll to bottom story) an amusing story which could catch on, and if so it will do a lot to counteract all the school propaganda. It's cool to be a rebel and nannying messages are often counter-intuitive, causing the recipients to go the other way.

LORD MONCKTON IN CLIMATE DEBATE IN OZ.

Here is the link to a debate between Lord Monckton and Dr. Richard Denniss, an Australian economist. It is an interesting encounter for those who like to watch a good debate on the issue.

BBC CLIMATE BIAS NOW OFFICIAL

This Mail article relates the new BBC report which recommends the Corporation does not give a voice to "minority" views. This seems rather peculiar in relation to climate science considering that those minority views are growing stronger in recent years, and the scientific"consensus" is starting to crumble in the light of recent evidence as well as the discovery of errors in IPCC reports and the damaging emails from the University of East Anglia. At least we will now know that the BBC is biased, because it is admitting it. Here is some background on the author of the report. No wonder it's findings are the way they are.

A CLIMATE PREDICTION FROM THE TREES WITH A MESSAGE FOR TODAY

Here (just scroll down to the article "Climate Scientists Who Were Right 30 Years Ago") is a climate prediction from 1979 made by two tree-ring experts before the hockey stick graph had ever been heard of. The newspaper article shown is very interesting indeed and portrays a scientific integrity that seems to contrast with the kind of behaviour witnessed in the climategate emails seen today.

CERN CLOUD EXPERIMENT "MUST NOT BE INTERPRETED"

This article looks at a German interview about the experiment to test Svensmark's hypothesis concerning the role of charged particles in the formation of clouds and the effect of the sun's magnetic field in preventing them. The article suggests that the results may be favourable and so attempts may be made to try to suppress them. What an utter disgrace to prevent open and transparent science.

AUSSIE PM SKEWERED BY VOTER ON CARBON TAX LIE

Politicians have often been caught out being less than honest, and here we can see a clip of Julia Gillard in one of those moments when she is confronted by a member of the public with no way out. Deliciously embarrassing!

GLOBAL WARMING ISN'T GLOBAL

This article looks at the global warming trend in different latitude bands of the globe. What it shows is that the term "global warming" is a misnomer for what is actually happening. Yet another nail in the coffin of the warmist hypothesis.

A CASE AGAINST PRECIPITOUS CLIMATE ACTION

I recently found this article by Richard Lindzen on the superb GWPF website and thought it worth drawing to your attention. In it Lindzen states that a doubling of CO2 from the pre-industrial level (280 ppm) has been calculated to give a temperature rise of about 1C, of which we have already had 0.8C. In other words if CO2 rises to 560ppm we should expect a temperature rise of about 0.2C from today. Of course what the alarmists say is that this rise will be magnified by other feedbacks, the chief of which is the increase in water vapour content. The problem with this argument is that by now we should have had a much larger temperature rise than 0.8C because if the hypothesis was correct positive feedbacks from water should have occurred. The fact that the temperature rise is so small seems to indicate that there are negative feedbacks (perhaps from clouds) which have cancelled out some of the predicted warming.

ENERGY PRICES COULD DOUBLE IN 5 YEARS

This report in the Mail explains that some financial experts are predicting energy prices are due to rise much more steeply than Ofgem's estimate of £100 per year, while Chris Huhne claims there will be no rises at all due to "green taxes". Another good article was in the Express.

AUSSIE KIDS TAUGHT TO FEAR CLIMATE

This piece in the Australian Telegraph highlights the scary climate scenarios being taught in Australian schools. Children may fear the bogeyman for a while, but if he doesn't come they will eventually rumble the teacher.

IPCC ALARMIST PREDICTIONS SHOWN TO FAIL

This article looks at a number of predictions maded by the IPCC in 1995 and how they compare with the way things actually turned out.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES NOT SO GREEN AFTER ALL

The UK government is pinning its hope on electric vehicles to reduce the carbon emissions of the transport sector, but this report pours cold water on this hope. It seems that the government was relying on very incomplete and therefore inaccurate evidence, rather like the IPCC.

LORD MONCKTON STANDS UP TO HOSTILE INTERVIEW IN OZ

One can only admire the way Lord Monckton conducted himself in this interview on the Australian ABC radio. Monckton has been relentless in his campaign afainst climate alarmism. He seems to have a quite limitless amount of energy.

UN PLAN TO DESTROY THE WORLD ECONOMY

This article from the inimitable James Delingpole looks at a new report from the UN on how they see the world's economy developing (or not!) over the next decades. It might have come straight from a communist manual with all its controlling measures and planned targets. I just hope that our political leaders will have the good sense to ignore it, though I have some doubts on that score.

CRU - HOPELESSLY MUDDLED AND CONFUSED

Here is an article which blows wide open the muddle and confusion at the heart of the UK Climate Research Unit.

In Parliament's enquiries into the Climategate Affair, Graham Stringer MP was surprised to learn that the CRU team couldn't produce the same result twice.

"When I asked Oxburgh if [Keith] Briffa [CRU academic] could reproduce his own results, he said in lots of cases he couldn't," Stringer told us. "That just isn't science. It's literature. If somebody can't reproduce their own results, and nobody else can, then what is that work doing in the scientific journals?" You just couldn't make it up! And these people are paid out of our taxes.

GOVERNMENT ENERGY BILL SHELVED

The government's "flagship" energy bill has been put on hold in a move that has called into question the government's commitment to green issues according to This Guardian report. If so, to many this will come as a welcome relief.

INSURANCE COMPANIES HYPE UP GW RISK

This post highlights an issue that is often cited by climate alarmists, which is ths allegation that global warming will increase insurance risk. However they should declare an interest, as they will benefit from higher premiums. The article is from the Global Warming blog which is well worth a look.

CHINA LEADS THE WAY IN THORIUM REACTORS

While the West fiddles around with costly wind farms with gas-fired back up, the Chinese are ready to go with a new technology thorium reactor as explained here. When you think that the UK could be leading the world with this, it only underlines how foolish and short-sighted our government is to miss out.

WARMISTS DESPERATE FOR NEW WORLD AGREEMENT ON EMISSIONS

Here is a good article which sums up the situation regarding a successor agreement to Kyoto. As the article says, despite the revelations of climategate and the blunders of the IPCC, and the fact that we have had no statistically significant warming for a decade, the warmists are now the establishment. There are now huge vested interests in keeping the whole climate change bandwagon rolling along, and so it will take a major event to knock it out.
