World Climate Declaration - Clintel
When you look at the mainstream TV broadcasts you could easily believe that no serious scientists disagree with the hypothesis that CO2 is causing a climate "emergency".
ReplyDeleteNatural vs anthropogenic. Its an interesting discussion. This shows 6 different studies showing natural is actually slightly cooling while anthropogenic is the only reason we are warming on earth.
Natural as well as anthropogenic factors cause warming

Figure 1: Net human and natural percent contributions to the observed global surface warming over the past 50-65 years according to Tett et al. 2000 (T00, dark blue), Meehl et al. 2004 (M04, red), Stone et al. 2007 (S07, green), Lean and Rind 2008 (LR08, purple), Huber and Knutti 2011 (HK11, light blue), and Gillett et al. 2012 (G12, orange). This has been added to the SkS Climate Graphics Page.
As has been said many times before, computer models are not accurate. They are simply an estimate based on the information that is fed into them. The point I was making is that there are many scientists who disagree with the "climate emergency" narrative. If you look out of your window can you honestly see a climate emergency? Trying to make out that 1.5 degrees C change in temperature is some kind of disaster is a lost cause. It is simply scaremongering.
ReplyDeleteAs has been said many times before, computer models are not accurate.
ReplyDeleteSome of them are very accurate. They hindcast the models to see if they are representing the past temperatures of the earth. From there based on that information gives a look into the future of what we can expect.
The real indicator is climate sensitivity. CO2 is the stable gas and water vapor is the fast feedback to co2. CO2 warms the ocean water and water vapor increases with increases in higher temperature. The co2 increased mainly coming from the oceans during the ice age to holocene transition. The preindustrial co2 stayed steady for about 10,000 years with minor variations.
Now with natural vs anthropogenic. Natural did not warm the climate. THese six studies in my first post are evidence provided by science.
You appear to place too much trust in computer climate models. See here why you should not do so.
DeleteShould you chose to go to the site of the link, you will see easily your statement is just false.

Figure 1: Comparison of climate results with observations. (a) represents simulations done with only natural forcings: solar variation and volcanic activity. (b) represents simulations done with anthropogenic forcings: greenhouse gases and sulphate aerosols. (c) was done with both natural and anthropogenic forcings (IPCC).

ReplyDeleteGo down through this article that is gathered from a long list of studies. 1.5*C to 2.0*C has some strong changes in a very areas increasing the danger to us living on earth. Just a 1/2 degree incresase is significant.
If 1/2 degree was significant then we should already see very significant changes, as we have had over 1 degree, but the reality is that our climate is just the same as it has always been. Of course there are severe weather events, but this is not new, as they have always happened. No amount of reduction to CO2 is going to have any effect. People can see this for themselves and the statistics prove they are right.
ReplyDeleteIt has effected us now. Simply easy differences is that the extreme heat waves would be impossible if it were the co2 content of 150 years ago.
Deletehttps://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/article/climate-change-already-worse-than-expected-un-report
The new report found that droughts and heat waves are killing off trees and corals; sea level rise is forcing people in vulnerable areas to leave their homes; and extreme conditions may be increasing the likelihood of violent conflict. If warming is not halted soon, and it continues, as many as half the species living on land could become extinct, malnutrition in parts of the world will likely become widespread, and extreme weather events will become increasingly common.
The poor, the very young and very old, ethnic minorities, and Indigenous peoples are at most risk. And while measures to limit the impact of climate change do exist, the only truly meaningful step is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible.
You claim " extreme heat waves would be impossible if it were the co2 content of 150 years ago." But where is your evidence for such a sweeping claim? There is good evidence that the global surface temperatures were higher 1000 years ago during the Medieval Warm Period. Of course promoters of the CO2 hypothesis want to discredit and remove this inconvenient piece of history, but here is an article which explains why they are wrong.
DeleteThere isn't much good about increasing co2 in the atmosphere.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.commondreams.org/news/2022/06/03/racing-top-speed-towards-global-catastrophe-noaa-says-co2-levels-highest-human?utm_source=daily_newsletter&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=daily_newsletter&utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=TOP+NEWS%3A+Why+NOAA+Says+Humanity++Racing+at+Top+Speed+Towards+Global+Catastrophe&utm_campaign=TOP+NEWS%3A+Fri++6%2F3%2F22
As NOAA explains:
CO2 pollution is generated by burning fossil fuels for transportation and electrical generation, by cement manufacturing, deforestation, agriculture, and many other practices. Along with other greenhouse gases, CO2 traps heat radiating from the planet's surface that would otherwise escape into space, causing the planet’s atmosphere to warm steadily, which unleashes a cascade of weather impacts, including episodes of extreme heat, drought and wildfire activity, as well as heavier precipitation, flooding and tropical storm activity.
Impacts to the world's oceans from greenhouse gas pollution include increasing sea surface temperatures, rising sea levels, and an increased absorption of carbon, which makes sea water more acidic, leads to ocean deoxygenation, and makes it more difficult for some marine organisms to survive.
The world is changing. To assume there is no effect from rising co2 atmosphere content is false.

Global heating is turning white Alps green, study finds
Vegetated areas above treeline have increased by 77% since 1984, satellite data shows
So glad that you mentioned the Alps, as you will want to read this evidence which proves that the Alps were actually warmer than today just 4000 years ago. Obviously this warming was not caused by an increase in CO2 due to human activity. It was down to natural changes.
