 CAR 26 is an organisation that I have only just discovered. It is run by a TV presenter, Lois Perry, who seems to get around the studios of the small TV companies, which are the only ones who will have a discussion involving any climate sceptic views. Here is a link to their website which contains a lot of interesting material. It is aimed at the ordinary members of the public, rather than the small number of scientifically minded people, which is a good thing and badly needed. Lois is good at communicating, rather like Jo Nova in Australia, so she may be able to reach more people than the more sophisticated GWPF, which is aimed more at the level of government. GREEN "WONDER KIDS" RIPPING US OFF AGAIN

 There are so many people on board the gravy train of renewable energy and net zero that it is simply impossible to name them all. Here is a story which encapsulates the shambles very nicely:

The bottom line in all this is that the British public are being ripped off. We have become so used to this that we simply shrug our shoulders and accept it.

QATAR IS THE SOURCE MUCH OF OUR GAS

We currently rely on Qatar for a key portion of our gas imports, but this is going to rise as we make up for the supply from Russia and the drop in North Sea supplies. 

 Our reliance on Qatari gas could rise in the future. The UK government has been nurturing the relationship with Doha, to ensure security of supply as North Sea reserves dwindle.

Britain in recent months has succeeded in cutting out imports from Russia. That was only about 4% of the UK total - but it makes the gas we source from Qatar even more crucial.

The EU is far more reliant on Russian gas, so securing alternatives is even more pressing.

Overall, the EU only got 5% of its gas from Qatar - but that could change. Olaf Scholz, chancellor of the bloc's biggest gas guzzler - Germany - has said that Qatar will play a central role in the country's strategy to diversify away from Russian gas. But it won't happen overnight.

Contract negotiations have been tricky. Qatar likes to supply gas under long-term deals, lasting 15-20 years, which may not be consistent with Western nations aims to decarbonise.

By contrast, China, with its less ambitious net-zero plans, has unveiled a 27-year agreement to buy a massive $60bn worth of Qatari gas. And Germany needs to boost its infrastructure, the terminals which receive the liquified natural gas - known as LNG - in order to take on more supplies.

The UK is ahead of the game in the latter - thanks to co-operation from Qatar. The country is a majority owner of the South Hook terminal in Wales, where LNG is offloaded into special containers. It's claimed the site can hold a fifth of the UK's daily gas needs - the Qatari government is investing millions to up that capacity by a quarter by 2025.

And by that point, Qatar is expecting to double its LNG output - with no shortage of customers. Many Asian nations are vying with Europe to tie down supplies to ensure energy security - and Qatar is seen as a relatively reliable and geopolitically tame option.

So much for all the talk of ending the use of fossil fuels. Our political leaders know it is totally unrealistic, but they carry on with the pretence. It is all a sham.

This will come as no surprise to those who have read this blog, as I have mentioned the fact that they can take over your power supply several times. In fact they have proved to be unreliable on many issues. Yet around 30 million have been fitted. No doubt we will all be coerced into having one eventually. We will be given the carrot of cheaper bills.

EXTREME WEATHER WARNING - NOT TRUE!

Yes, we had a few very hot days, but no one could realistically says this was, over all, an extreme summer. Luckily Paul has unearthed the data to prove that there is no "emergency" and no need to panic. Yes, here in the UK we are experiencing slightly warmer weather than we had in the 1850 -1900 period when we were coming out of the Little Ice Age, but for that we should be thankful, not at all panicked. 

BULGARIA WINS THE JACKPOT

  When the decision on who would host COP29 was made in Egypt this week, the winner was Bulgaria.

“You can only imagine what this means as a contribution to tourism, to transport, to communications and the media, for agriculture, the food industry and many, many other sectors of our economy,” Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said of the win.

It was almost as if they were hosting the next Olympics or the World Cup. That is how much it means to host the next COP jamboree with hundreds of private jets bringing in celebrities from all over the world. Imagine if there was a downgrading of the "climate emergency" to, say, a climate slight warming event? Oh what disaster! 

CO2 INCREASE MAY NOT ALL BE DUE TO FOSSIL FUELS

I am sure the emissions of CO2 from burning fossil fuels has added to the natural level, but it is by no means certain that the natural level was completely fixed at one figure. The article below has some very interesting links in it for those who want to study it in more detail. What it does tell us is that climate science is far from simple and far from settled. Something that the politicians are loathe to admit.

CO2 EMISSION FACTS - CHINA HAS A BIGGER FOOTPRINT THAN THE UK

 

China has emitted more carbon dioxide over the past eight years than the UK has since the start of the Industrial Revolution, figures have shown.

Between 1750 and 2020, the UK emitted 78 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, compared with China’s emissions of 80 billion tonnes since 2013.

The UK has FOOLISHLY indicated it is open to paying “climate change reparations” to climate vulnerable countries and will discuss the issue at the ongoing Cop27 summit.

However, China is unlikely to be party to an arrangement because it still considers itself a developing country.

This is despite China having emitted 14 per cent of all emissions throughout history, surpassed only by the United States, which has emitted 25 per cent of all emissions.

The UK, in comparison, has emitted just 4.6 per cent of all historic emissions - the fifth highest in the world. Around 80 per cent of these occurred before 1990.

Today, the UK emits less than one per cent of all global emissions each year and, once adjusting for population, ranks 68th in global per capita emissions.

China, on the other hand, is responsible for 30 per cent of all global emissions each year, ranking 42nd in per capita emissions.

THE GREATEST FRAUD IN HISTORY

 An important reminder of what underpins the current climate "emergency". Piltdown man was a low point for honest science in the 1950's, but it did not cost us $trillions which the current climate exaggeration does.  The media has jumped on a new announcement that "Europe is warming twice as fast as the global average". Here: Europe’s climate warming at twice rate of global average, claims WMO | NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT (wordpress.com) this scare story is debunked using actual data. It is notable that none of the mainstream media ever even tries to challenge these scary announcements. I guess it is so much easier to just go along with sticking to the official narrative.
