ENVIRONMENTALISTS INDIRECTLY CAUSE FOREST FIRES
According to Christopher Booker's latest column (second story), the Australian bush fires have been made much worse by the government listening to the green lobby and preventing home owners from felling trees around their properties to create fire breaks. Yet more common sense being ignored in favour of green idealism.

ReplyDeletePainting every "green" with the same brush is disingenuous - there isn't necessarily a consensus. Clearing all trees around a house may be _an_ answer, but it may not be the only or best answer. Have a listen to Bill Mollison talk of his experiences and approach:

I do not mean to paint every green with the same brush, but those who want to preserve every tree are having unintended adverse effects. I also blame those politicians who listen to the strident "green" voices and abandon common sense.
ReplyDeleteWell then, why don't you just analyse specific ideas, instead of using generalised and prejudicial terms in a clearly derogatory way?
