Simply staggering. Why would anyone vote for such a thing? Unfortunately the Conservatives cannot attack it, as they are pledging to do the same thing in five extra years - so shifting the pain a little further down the road.

"The IPCC report states on page 7 that they present “clear and robust conclusions … that the science now shows with 95 percent certainty that human activity is the dominant cause of observed warming since the mid-20th century.”

There are several problems with these ideas. Most heat transfer in the lower atmosphere, where there is a lot of water vapor, occurs via convection. Water vapor (and water) have a high heat capacity and carry a lot of latent heat, they transport most of the thermal energy near the surface in the so-called atmospheric “boundary layer.” CO2 has a low heat capacity. It is infrared active and absorbs and emits IR radiation, with a small delay, whereas latent heat can be carried by water vapor for weeks before it condenses as rain and emits it. At high altitudes, where there is little water vapor, CO2 is responsible for emitting most of the IR to space as thermal radiation. But, near the surface water vapor does the cooling.

 99.9% of the heat capacity is in the oceans and 0.1% is in the atmosphere.  The oceans are very cool, with an average temperature of about 4 degrees C. As stated in the quote, they contain 1,000 times the heat capacity of the atmosphere and provide a huge buffer that limits the Earth’s surface temperature. Most of the solar thermal energy that reaches the surface is absorbed by the oceans. The warmest part of the ocean is the surface of the tropical Pacific." 

The question remains; why has the Western world been captivated by such a foolish and damaging notion?

The only thing that will stop him is that the task of getting to net zero will prove to be impossible, but trying to get there will still cause a lot of pain and suffering

THE SCANDAL JUST GETS BIGGER AND BIGGER

We have seen over the last few days how the media has spotlighted the " betting scandal" in which a few Conservative Party candidates and officials have placed bets on the timing of the election. But at the same time some people have been uncovering a much more worrying scandal, that the UK Met Office have been using low standard weather stations to claim record temperatures in the UK. The difference is that the media has not focused on this scandal at all. They have simply ignored it.

DANSGAARD-OESCHGER EVENTS

 Dansgaard–Oeschger (D–O) events do not get mentioned in the mainstream media. The reason is that they show that extreme weather events have occurred naturally over the past 100000 years many times. The temperature variations were much greater than anything dreamt up by a climate scientist. The question is; what is the point of wasting trillions of pounds to stop the current small change, when such large naturally occurring changes cannot even be explained, let alone stopped?

There's a fact to conjure with. Net zero has no hope of being achieved anytime soon. Whatever the weather does we certainly have no control over it. Not that achieving net zero would have the slightest effect anyway. 

A reduction of a measly 0.5% from 2022 to 2023.

EV TRANSITION IS SLOWING DOWN

The price decline has been dramatic over the past year. In June 2023, average used EV prices were over 25% higher than used gas car prices, but by May, used EVs were on average 8% lower than the average price for a used gasoline-powered car in U.S. In dollar terms, the gap widened from $265 in February to $2,657 in May, according to an analysis of 2.2 million one to five year-old used cars conducted by iSeeCars. Over the past year, gasoline-powered used vehicle prices have declined between 3-7%, while electric vehicle prices have decreased 30-39%.

ANOTHER CLIMATE REPORT IS DEBUNKED

In this new video by Paul Burgess he looks at a new report by the Isle of Man Climate Change Committee (yes, they have one as well) and explains where it is wrong using the evidence in scientific reports by highly respected institutions including the IPCC. I doubt they will listen to him or change anything, but it is still a very instructive video. The points he raises are equally valid for any other climate body.

WE WILL ALL PAY A HEAVY PRICE FOR TRYING TO ACHIEVE NET ZERO (AND FAILING)

The article, below, contains a lot of points about how our lives are going to be restricted in the attempt to reach net zero, but the main point about the rich paying a heavy price is not quite right as we will all be paying a heavy price, but it is the middle class who will face the worst of the restrictions as it is they who will find they cannot afford to run their car, heat their home, go on holiday. The rich will still be able to do these things, as a complete ban on private jets, heated swimming pools, etc. would simply drive the rich abroad and no government would want to risk that.

The only way the government will be able to claim they have achieved net zero is by claiming that vast amounts of CO2 have been removed from the atmosphere. This will result in a number of schemes coming forward to do this, but this will come at a huge price leaving the question of how this money will be found. I expect some will come from the taxpayer in the form of subsidies and some added to our bills. 

I will wait and see how they try to hide it. I make one prediction, which is that these schemes will lead to scams as a result of either they will simply not work, or even worse they will prove completely fraudulent, as have some of the schemes to "off set" carbon emissions.

The above link is to an interesting study by Professor Roy Spencer. He says: Net Zero assumes that human CO2 emissions must stop to halt the rise in atmospheric CO2. This is false. nature removes atmospheric CO2 at a rate based upon the CO2 content of the atmosphere, and as long as that remains elevated, nature continues to remove CO2 at a rapid rate. Satellite-observed “global greening” is evidence of that over land. Over the ocean, sea water absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere in proportion to the difference in CO2 partial pressures between the atmosphere and ocean, that is, the higher the atmospheric CO2 content is, the faster the ocean absorbs CO2.
