NEW VIDEO EXPLAINS THE PROBLEM WITH UK ENERGY POLICY

An excellent new video from Paul Burgess  explains how exposed we are to low wind speeds. Cold still weather can last for 2 or 3 weeks and we have no effective way of dealing with it.

THE ICJ WREAKS HAVOC ON THE WEST WITH CLIMATE "OPINION"

Most of the public will not have heard of the ICJ (International Court of Justice), but they do apparently wield a lot of power, although they are not recognised by some nations including the USA*. When you read the linked article below you will see that they are actually a left-wing organisation wanting to transfer wealth from the rich West to the "developing" nations. It is clear that their judgments are based on ideology rather than solid data which makes them worthless. Time for Western nations to get out of its jurisdiction.

UK LABOUR BUDGET IS BAD NEWS FOR ENERGY AND THE ECONOMY

The decision to retain the windfall tax on North Sea oil and gas is catastrophic and deeply cynical. It accelerates decline, deters investment and erodes one of Britain’s few remaining productive tax bases. This will deepen import dependence, expose consumers to global volatility and weaken national resilience.

CoP STARTS A ROADMAP - BUT WHERE IS IT GOING?

In each hard case that had to be decided by the participants, there was going to be a roadmap for getting someplace, someday, which was often unspecified. But there were no roads so no map. An issue resolution roadmap normally specifies methods and milestones. In this case the only method was ever more meetings.

Why would the delegates want to see an end to these jamborees? They have become an end in themselves. An annual get-together to occupy a large number of people who have come to believe in their own importance.

CoP 30 PROPAGANDA TO CLAIM SUCCESS OUT OF FAILURE

"The COP30 agreement claims the world was previously on track for more than 4C of warming until the Paris Agreement heroically “bent” that trajectory down to 2.3–2.5C  However, “this is misinformation,” says Roger Pielke Jr., Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. It is a fiction built on the carcass of RCP8.5 — the extreme scenario that scientists quietly abandoned years ago because it required impossible coal use, implausible demographics and an economic collapse that never happened."

COP30 Is Lying To Justify Its Existence - Clintel

The truth is that the Paris Agreement has resulted in emissions of CO2 rising year on year, just as they did before. The fact that temperatures have not risen in line with the computer predictions is because the predictions were exaggerated. CO2 has not caused the warming.

THE COST OF CANCELING NET ZERO

Here in the UK two of the main political parties, Conservatives and Reform are committing to end Net Zero policies if they win the next election. In the linked article below David Turver looks at the costs of doing so.

CoP 30 ENDS IN A FUDGE

One thing that most people can agree on is that these climate conferences seem to achieve little or no progress. After 30 years, fossil fuels still account for over 80% of the energy used in the world and the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has continued to rise throughout. To call this a success would leave most people bemused. In fact cynicism is now the usual response from the public who regard the great and the good who fly in private jets to these events, and then lecture us on how to cut back on our own small emissions, as utter hypocrites. The cost of all this is obscene, when set against so much poverty in the world. This must stop.

GULF STREAM DOING FINE WITH NO IMMINENT COLLAPSE

One of the prominent scare stories is that global warming will result in excessive Arctic ice melting which will slow down and then stop the Gulf Stream leading to northern Europe becoming colder. According to the latest study, below, this is just another myth.

ALARMISTS LOSING THE ARGUMENTS ON CLIMATE AND GETTING DESPERATE

The article below seems at first to be a real threat to those opposed to the policies to reduce CO2 emissions, or even challenging the scientific arguments which underpin the whole reason for them.

UN makes “landmark” deal on information integrity to shut up annoying denialist - Clintel

The awkward thing for the alarmists is that they must allow freedom of speech and the democratic rights of people to speak and write freely, even when they don't like what the people are saying or writing. So what do they mean by "climate denialism" when there are so many highly qualified people putting forward very rational arguments.

So the threats are, in reality, only applicable to those making ridiculous arguments, and even then it will be difficult to stop them. It all seems to be a load of hot air.

GERMANY'S SELF IMPOSED CLIMATE POLICY - A RECIPE FOR ECONOMIC DISASTER

Here is another good article from Clintel. The climate policies proposed and being followed by some nations is quite remarkable. This article covers a lot of issues, but the one that caught my eye was what is happening in Germany.

Germany wants to be climate-neutral by 2045 – a self-destructive plan: Germany’s reduction will inevitably be offset by rising emissions in other EU countries. This is because European emissions trading ensures that emission rights that are not used in Germany are used up in other EU countries.

With its Climate Protection Act, Germany has imposed restrictions on itself that will have a highly painful impact in the coming years. The German Climate Protection Act, cemented by the Federal Constitutional Court, seems like a recipe for economic disaster. It allows Germany only a residual budget of 6.7 gigatons of CO2 from 2020, which is likely to be used up by the early 2030s. According to the law, penalties, shutdowns, and restrictions on freedom will then be imposed in order to meet climate targets. It does not sound like much fun!

JAMES HANSEN WAS RIGHT

James Hansen one of the key architects of the idea that the world faced a "climate emergency" has been proved right, not about the "emergency", but about his assertion that the industrial nations would not give up the use of fossil fuels. In the article linked below author Robert Bradley looks at some of the prophetic statements made by Hansen.

As the article states, the most sensible and much more economical policy would be to adapt to extreme weather events, which have always happened and no doubt always will. We have already spent enough money on the net zero policies with very little to show for it. Instead we could have protected our coastline against severe storms and put in better protection to prevent rivers from flooding our homes.

A CRITICAL REVIEW OF IMPACTS OF GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS

Here is a link to the USA Department of Energy's very important paper on the state of climate science. Because of its findings this has been ignored by the mainstream media which seems to be only interested in the "climate emergency" narrative. What cannot be disputed is that the authors are all highly distinguished scientists. It's such a shame that there are so many in positions of power who are so brain-washed that they refuse to listen or read of anything which does not agree with their pre-conceived view.

FREE SPEECH UNDER ATTACK AT THE BRAZIL CoP

The existential climate narrative has always been accompanied by tropes such as the “science is settled” and “we’re past the time to ‘debate’ climate change.” This climate summit in Brazil is raising to a much higher level its attempt to quash free speech and scientific challenges to its climate dogma.

USA BRAZIL CLIMATE CoP PERSPECTIVE

The USA is powering away under President Trump. He and his government are not attending the current CoP event in Brazil, but American reporters are there to inform us of what is happening. It appears that California governor Gavin Newsom takes an opposing view and is expected to run for president in 2028. If a sensible climate policy is to be maintained it is vital that JD Vance is elected and not Newsom.

CAR POLLUTION - IS IT MASSIVELY EXAGGERATED?

The 'war on the motorist' has been going on for several decades. It is generally a very slow process, but with sudden restrictions being put in place, such as the London emissions scheme, ULEZ, Other councils are following suit with similar schemes and parking charges are rising along with restrictions on parking provision. The reason for this is the dual policies of reducing CO2 emissions and reducing pollution. The harm caused is constantly pushed at the public as being very serious, but the following article shows that this is a massive exaggeration.

UK ENERGY SUBSIDIES - A GUIDE TO UNDERSTAND THEM

The energy market, in particular the electricity market, has become increasingly complex with a range of government subsidies used to promote renewable energy. How do these work and what do they cost? Answers to these and other questions can be found in the informative article below. The subsidies are now costing an eye-watering £14 billion a year, making our electricity the most expensive in the world.

NEW MOTORING TAX ON THE WAY

The Telegraph explain how the system will work:

While the specifics are still discussed, The Telegraph can reveal that the scheme would be aligned to the annual payment of vehicle excise duty (VED), which affects all UK motorists. EV drivers have had to pay the charge since April.

The new element is being described as “VED+” and being framed as a way to get drivers of green cars to pay more each year.

EV drivers will be asked to estimate the number of miles they will drive in the year ahead and pay a fee, set in the current plan at 3p per mile.

AUSSIES TO GET 3 "FREE" HOURS OF ELECTRICITY

So many homes in Australia have installed solar panels that in the middle of the day they have to give it away to encourage people to use it. Of course it comes at a cost elsewhere in the system as nothing can be truly free and some other people are paying for it. Once subsidies are introduced the whole market becomes distorted. PEACEFUL PROTEST OR CRIMINAL DAMAGE?

Recently a court cleared climate change protestors of causing criminal damage to Stone Henge when they threw coloured powder at the stones. The judge was very keen to direct the jury to consider the right to protest and appeared to make light of the damage which had to be cleaned off. This result will give the green light to other protestors to take similar action. This weak judgement does nothing to help protect society from these hooligans. Very bad news.

HOW BACK-UP POWER FOR WIND AND SOLAR LEADS TO DISASTER

As  the UK continues to rely more and more on solar and wind power to generate "carbon-free" electricity the question of how we will cope when the wind doesn't blow and the sun isn't shining becomes very urgent. At present we have gas-fired generation on stand-by, but the government claims we can do without this. This video, linked below, explains how very costly this would be.

SCIENCE BASED TARGET INITIATIVE ? (NO, ME NEITHER)

So you, like me, have never heard of this. Well now I have, let me give you some facts.Nearly 900 companies – including several large international corporations – have withdrawn from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This initiative requires members to set scientifically validated climate targets in order to align their emissions goals with international standards. However, more and more companies are questioning the feasibility of these requirements. The withdrawal affects approximately seven percent of all participating companies. (So you can see that this was a big burden on businesses)

The extra costs incurred in complying were bound to lead to higher prices for consumers. However once people start leaving and returning to competing on price it is the firms left in this project that will be left struggling. It is the return to a free market economy.

PRICES DRIVEN UP BY "VOLUNTARY" ESG RULES

ESG is the “environmental, social, and governance” criteria that Greens devised as a tool to coerce compliance.

The strategy is clever and relentless. ESG advocates form “voluntary” industry groups that lock in their radical priorities from the start. Then, they lean on major corporations to join these pacts — or else face coordinated boycotts and damaging PR campaigns. Take the U.S. Plastics Pact, for instance: Greens would argue that it encourages the reduction of waste and increases recycling etc. whereas others will argue that it’s a targeted assault on the plastics, food, and petroleum sectors, with an explicit mission to trigger a “profound paradigm shift” and drive “systemic change” in how these industries operate.

Whatever side you are on there is no doubt that it results in increased costs for the consumer and when taken to the extreme it limits choice and drives out competition.

Now a coalition of state Attorneys General, led by Florida A.G. James Uthmeier, has written to environmental groups demanding to know how their use of the Pact to fuel their activism does not violate antitrust laws. Uthmeier is joined by the Attorneys General from Texas, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana. Read their full press statement at CFACT.org.

“Radical environmental activists do not have the right, nor the avenue, to suppress business operations in our market,” Uthmeier said.

BILL GATES SOFTENS HIS STANCE ON CLIMATE CHANGE

On the cusp of COP30 in Brazil, Bill Gates has launched a 17 page memo called Three tough truths about climate.

Bill Gates can see what’s coming (a reckoning for the renewables debacle), and he is repositioning himself so he doesn’t go down with the ship. Indeed, he’s almost writing an escape plan for the whole Blob. In a nutshell, he’s admitting between the lines that wind and solar power are unaffordable, and since climate change won’t actually be that catastrophic, everyone should calm down while we invent technologies, and in the mean time, get back to stopping people from starving. Wouldn’t you know, he says “Health and prosperity are the best defense against climate change.
