CoP 30 ENDS IN A FUDGE

One thing that most people can agree on is that these climate conferences seem to achieve little or no progress. After 30 years, fossil fuels still account for over 80% of the energy used in the world and the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has continued to rise throughout. To call this a success would leave most people bemused. In fact cynicism is now the usual response from the public who regard the great and the good who fly in private jets to these events, and then lecture us on how to cut back on our own small emissions, as utter hypocrites. The cost of all this is obscene, when set against so much poverty in the world. This must stop.
