GREEN JOB LOSSES - THE TRUE COST OF NET ZERO

We are constantly being told about the new green jobs which are going to be created by pushing for net zero, and yet the reality is the complete opposite. What we see is the loss of good well paid jobs in the traditional economy as we increase the price of fuel and electricity. Here is a prime example:

Labour In A Spin Over Green Steel Job Losses | NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT (wordpress.com)

I have heard some extreme green activists state that saving CO2 emissions should come before economic benefit. This is not the view of the majority of the public.

  1. Basically employment is expected to favor the green sector. Electrical energy is cheaper than fossil fuels and the economy receives the excess money to support other jobs. Net zero ends up being a win for support of people working.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are an example. The transition from traditional gas-powered vehicles to EVs is expected to lead to job gains on the whole. This is because EV owners spend their money on electricity rather than gasoline, and the electric utility sector is more labor intensive than the oil sector. In addition, EV owners spend less on electricity than they would on gas each year and inject those savings back into the overall economy, which is also more labor intensive than the oil sector.

  2. As you can see from the Steel Works above there are job losses there. As for EVs, they are more expensive to buy and here in the UK our electricity is already so costly that to fill up a battery costs as much as a tank of petrol (gasoline). It seems like the green jobs are being exported to China. The cost of living here is going through the roof, so everyone is feeling poorer.
