It has become apparent for a long time that the most expensive part of an EV is the battery which has a limited life. This fact is becoming widely known and is a major factor in putting people off buying one. This has now been picked up by the major national press here in the UK, see the link below:
Tesla's lifetime expected battery life is expected to be 300,000 miles. Both Europe and United States are building battery recycling plants.
ReplyDeleteBut the reality is that at present they are only guaranteed for far less than that and they cost thousands of pounds to replace.
ReplyDeleteIts even less miles for ICE vehicles. Battery packs many times outlast the body of the car.
