This site is a reference point for those with a cool head for climate science, arguably the most political science ever. When the government and most of the media concentrate on alarmism, this site is the antidote for those who don't believe the scare stories - YOU ARE NOT ALONE! (blog started on 7/11/07) We have over 2 million hits and blog is updated regularly most weeks.

IPCC - MORE PROPAGANDA THAN SCIENCE
This article from a brilliant blog "Frakking Consensus" highlights the reason why we should be very wary of the IPCC's claims that they are the "gold standard of climate science", when in fact their leadership are packed with people whose main qualifications are as advocates of global warming alarmism driven, naturally, by mankinds CO2 emissions. No less than propaganda dressed up as science.

GIGO
Garbidge in garbidge out, as the saying goes. This piece looks at a recent paper that claimed there had been a massive drop in the ocean's planckton in the last 70 years, and of course this was attributed to global warming. The author was very sceptical of the claims, and recent information has proved that he was correct to be. The lesson here is that we should not be quick to accept way out claims. Scientists should remain sceptical until clear evidence is provided.

CHINA ENTERS THE SHALE GAS RACE
This article gives the details. Clearly there is going to be a lot of CO2 emitted during the coming decades. Either we compete agianst this rising leviathon or we will be swamped by it.

LIES, PROPAGANDA AND THE BBC
Here's an article that should cause you to be concerned. It shows the close links between the BBC and climate activist organisations such as WWF, Greenpeace, and Christian Aid.
Further information is on this post. And for even more of the same sort of thing this post on EUREferendum will put your blood pressure off the scale. All this shows how deeply embedded the climate alarmism has become. It is without doubt huge, and since there never can be a difinitive repudiation of it, it is not going to go away easily. More likely it will just fade from our front pages, but the legacy of massive cost will be with us for much longer.

THE MURKY WORLD OF CLIMATE POLITICS
This piece in the Telegraph exposes a little known lobbying group called "Globe" and the dubious characters running it, including disgraced ex MP, Elliot Morley.

CASHING IN ON CARBON CREDITS
Further to Friday's article on theNorth East Power station being mothballed (partially), we now have the real reason for the action courtesy of EUReferendum, which is (of course) that the power company is doing this to amass a large amount of carbon credits, saving the company a lot of money. I wonder whether the consumers will gain anything out of this?
More on this here in the Sunday Telegraph.

IPCC OPENS DOOR TO DODGY SOURCES
Despite the massive amount of criticism levelled at the IPCC for including unreliable information in its last report, it has revised its guidelines, leaving the way open to further similar information going into its next one. They obviously have learnt nothing from the Himalayan Glacier fiasco; yet this is the organisation that governments throughout the world rely on.

DICTATORSHIP NEEDED TO INVOKE GREEN LAWS
Andrew Bolt in the Australian Herald claims that several alarmists yearn for a green dictatorship. It sounds worse than the EU.

UK POWER PLANT 'MOTHBALLED' AS IMPORTS ARE CHEAPER
This report is interesting, as it suggests that we are importing cheaper electricity. Presumably this must be nuclear power from France; if so it must be cheaper than wind or solar, but of course these are still being given massive subsisides. We are truly living in an upside down world.

COULD THE UK GOVERNMENT BE SEEING SENSE ON CLIMATE?
This article in the Guardian suggests that the government may be preparing to ditch some of the targets laid down in the Climate Change Act, under the guise of cutting "red tape". We will wait and see if common sense has now penetrated through the fog of climate alarm.

ALARMISTS WRONG PREDICTION ON CORALS
This report looks at a prediction made in 2002 that 40% of corals would be lost by 2010, and how recent figures show this to be a wild exaggeration, like so much of climate alarmism.

PORTUGAL - A LESSON FROM A GREEN ECONOMY
This post should be a lesson to all those who want to rush into a so-called "green" economy. If your economy is in a crisis, going "green" is one way of turning that crisis into an even deeper one leading to having to go cap in hand for a bail out. How much more of this madness will it take for governments to take notice?

UK GOVERNMENT SOLAR PROJECT CANCELLED
This article in the Telegraph explains that plans to put solar panels on public buildings has been cancelled due to the government having reduced the subsidy paid to such projects. In other words the government cannot afford to subsidise itself! Quite right! In any case it's not the government that is paying - it's us!

CRAZY CLIMATE STORY OF THE WEEK
This story in the Telegraph fits the bill. The really crazy thing is that they admit that the climate change is onel a "possible" one, and I still can't understand where they are getting the llamas from.

MORE ALARMIST PREDICTIONS COME UNSTUCK
This report looks at claims made in 2005 that millions of "climate refugees" would be leaving certain nations which they claimed would be severely affected by such things as sea level rise, drought, floods etc. Unfortunately for the alarmists, none of this has happened.

SOME EXCELLENT CLIMATE TALKS BY LEADING SCIENTISTS
Dr David Evans gives a talk to an audience opposed to the Australian emissions tax which PM Julia Gillard has now decided to introduce, having ruled it out prior to the general election in which she just clung on to power with the help of a couple of independents and a Green.
In this talk by Professor Richard Lindzen he gives his expert view on the global warming arguments.
Another interesting interview is this one with Prof. John Christy who is in charge of the UAH satellite temperature measuring system.

HAS CLIMATE SCEPTICISM NOW BECOME MAINSTREAM?
This piece by Trevor Kavanagh in the Sun shows that there is now a widespread view that eco-fundamentalists have got things badly wrong. Even Mr Monbiot is now prepared to admit it publicly (in part). Like Trevor Kavanagh I look forward to his further admissions of being hood-winked.

CO2 EMISSION TRADING SCHEMES TO UNITE
This report explains that the EU are trying to link up with the Californian ETS. This sounds like an attempt to show a united front to the public, in order to make them believe that it is an inevitable thing, but the public will start to askquestions once they realise that such schemes will make them more uncompetitive compared to the many other parts of the world that do not have them. Manufacturing with one hand tied behind your back seems like a fair comparison. Why would the EU want to draw attention to any similarities with California, a state that is almost bankrupt, is a mystery.

ENERGY CRISIS OVER FOR 250 YEARS
This report gives the details. Shale gas is the big new item that has been added. Reserves seem to be even higher than expected. When will we see more about this on the main news?

ARCTIC MELTWATER COULD LOWER TEMPS IN N. EUROPE - NEW STUDY
According to this new study there is a possibility of the Gulf Stream being slowed by a huge mass of Arctic meltwater in the next 20 years. This would lower UK temperatures by several degrees.

NEW WIND TURBINE REPORT REVEALS OUTPUT WORSE THAN PREDICTED
This report by an independent trust shows clearly that the real output is much less than that claimed by the wind power industry. I hope the government will read it and take action to stop the policy of becoming increasingly dependent on wind power.

ANOTHER CAUSE FOUND FOR RECENT WARMING
Yes, this article in the GWPF highlights new research that suggests that water vapour in the stratosphere increased between 1980 and 2000 and this could account for about one third of the recent warming. So it is likely that nature, not man, is controling the climate.

CLIMATE ALARMISTS CALL ON DOCTORS TO HELP
Some climate alarmists must be getting desperate as they are now, according to this report in the Guardian, calling on doctors to support their call for "action". If only they could see that the cost of this pointless "action" is actually taking away the funding that could actually help the poor nations.

HOW LONG DOES CO2 STAY IN THE ATMOSPHERE?
This article by Jo Nova looks at this important question and finds that the science supports about 4 years and not the 1,000 years claimed by some alarmist scientists.

THE SIMPLE TRUTH IS, THERE IS NO G W CATASTROPHY
Roger Helmer's article presents clear evidence that the global warming scare is not backed up by the facts. He shows the eight longest continuous temperature records in the world without any manipultation, and you can see for yourself that there is no problem.

THE POLITICS IN SCIENCE - A SALUTORY TALE
Here is a tale of a scientist whose findings did not conform to the environmentalists ideology. The short film clip is worth watching as it explains clearly just how science can be ignored, and scientists marginalised and even sacked for making the "wrong" findings.

SMART METERS NOT SO GREAT AFTER ALL
This piece in the Telegraph looks at the savings likely to come from smart electric meters which are to be installed in all homes from 2014 to 2019. The paltry £23 per year saving is dwarfed by the huge rises coming as a result of attempts to reduce CO2 emissions.
The Mail has even more frightening figures for the cost of the scheme. The trouble is, we seem to have no definite idea of the cost, just as with most large government projects.

CLIMATE MODELER GIVES A SCEPTIC SPEECH
Australian former climate modeler turned climate sceptic, David Evans gave this speech at a protest rally in Australia. It is quite brief and gives a simple explanation of why the alarmists are wrong.

SCEPTICS WIN SPECTATOR DEBATE
The Spectator debate resulted in a convincing win by Nigel Lawson's side against a warmist team including Sir David King. It seems that whenever a debate is held on global warming it is won by the sceptics. This cannot be a coincidence - could it be that the warmist arguments are weak?
