,Just because summer 2026 may have had the highest average temperature on record nationwide does not mean that it was the “hottest summer on record,” as widely reported by legacy media. It also does not tell the full story in terms of the conditions that the vast majority of people actually felt.

Labour has spent more than £170,000 of taxpayers’ money on paying social media influencers to promote net zero, it has emerged.

Figures released under freedom of information following a request from the Scottish Conservatives showed that no payments were made to promote any other form of energy.

The cable and its sister project, Eastern Green Link 2, were originally meant to cost a combined £3.4bn, a figure that has since doubled to an estimated £6.8bn.
