TROPICAL VIRUS REACHES EUROPE

This article gives the details. Of course global warming gets the blame, even though it is no hotter now than in the past. Much more likely that these diseases are being spread by increses in travel and trade. The article mentions that malaria used to be prevalent in the 17th century in the UK, but that was during the little ice age!
