MELTING SEA ICE SLOWS GLOBAL WARMING

Here's a story which appears contradictory - melting sea ice in the Antarctic has been shown to result in the growth of planckton which absorbs more CO2.

  1. If you look at the latest ice cover graphs you will notice that not only has the Arctic Ice cover reached "normal" for this time of the year, but the other Northern ice area graphs for the other typical sea ice regions show much greater cover than for this time last year. Were the sceptics right all along?

  2. Yes Bill I have seen those reports too. What is interesting is that even when sea ice has melted, the planckton absorbs the CO2 - not that CO2 is a problem anyway!
