This article chimes with my own thoughts, which are that no democracy could achieve net zero, as the public would simply vote out any government that inflicted the loss of freedom required to achieve it. Here in the UK we have had a unified approach by both the main parties, but now that we have made all the easier decisions we are coming to the tough ones where it is going to hurt the public in terms of restrictions and even higher costs. These policies will not get any party elected.
