This article in the Mail gives the shocking details. These vandals dug up lawns and blocked roads while the police stood and watched. Here's what a senior police officer said:
‘The law requires us to protect people’s right to peaceful assembly,’ he said, citing the 1988 Human Rights Act. ‘Simply a road being blocked does not make a protest itself unlawful.’
Clearly he is siding with the vandals. So much for the law! Time to scrap the wretched Human Rights Act and replace it with something better.
