Climate scientists were a little puzzled at this year’s sudden temperature surge as they cannot quite explain it: their models neither predict it nor are they able to account for it. UK Met Office have made a highly ingenious proposition. They are suggesting to mix ten years of past temperature data with ten years of projected temperatures to establish the climate we are currently experiencing. The Met Office’s cunning plan is part of a trend – making the ‘climate’ period shorter and the ‘weather’ longer.
