HYDROGEN TO REPLACE NATURAL GAS - NOT LIKELY?

The dilemma for the government is that they have to replace our natural gas (methane) with either electric heat pumps, which are expensive and require a lot of other work to radiators and insulation, or hydrogen gas. The hydrogen would require a much cheaper and simpler adaptation to the home, but there are other drawbacks as this article explains:

The government has, so far, understandably dithered. But delay means no change as the clock ticks towards the magic date of 2050.
