The Gulf Stream current (known scientifically as the AMOC, or Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation) is what keeps northern Europe and the UK having relatively mild winters. There have been a number of scares suggesting that this current is weakening and could even stop, so with a strong El Nino predicted now is the time for an update with the link below:
