UK PARLIAMENT ENERGY SECURITY AND NET ZERO COMMITTEE

The link below gives a list of the topics covered by the committee. Each report is a long read.

This one is recently published (Sept 2026) and I found it quite revealing:

"Zero sum game: How the UK can reframe the energy transition". This is the link to it:

One of the members of the committee is Sir Christopher Chope. He is one of the 5 MPs who voted against the original Climate Change Act - the only one currently still an MP. Sir Christopher is a very independent minded man and at the end of this topic he did not agree with the draft report, so he proposed:

, “This Committee declines to give the report a second reading because it engages in a debate about Government propaganda and makes dangerous suggestions that there should be restrictions upon freedom of expression where views expressed are contrary to those being promoted by the Government.”.

Of course he was outvoted by the rest of the committee 5 to 1, but having read through the report, I thought he was spot on.
