COST OF CLIMATE CHANGE - £300 BILLION A YEAR

In a report just published by the International Institiute for Environment and Development (IIED) the findings are that the cost of adaption and mitigation are much higher than that given by the Stern Report. The figures given by the IIED demonstrate the enormity of the task of decarbonising the planet's emissions. It's a task that democratically elected governments will find it impossible to finance without becoming very unpopular, particularly in the current recession. The Telegraph has this article on the report.
