IS OUR CLIMATE CONTROLLED BY SUPERNOVAE?

Here is a new hypothesis linking the Earth's climate with the timings of nearby supernovae. The paper by Henrik Svensmark has just been published and seems certain to cause much controversy. Like Darwin's Theory of Evolution it is impossible to prove, yet it seems to fit the known facts.
