GOVERNMENT RESPONSE TO MET OFFICE FAILINGS

I have been reporting on the poor way in which the UK Met Office have been producing the temperature data which underpins the whole global warming narrative for some time. See these posts for example:

Ray Sanders has been undertaking an in depth look at the 370 weather recording stations located all over the UK. Here is a link to the project: Surface Stations Project | Tallbloke's Talkshop

Ray's work has revealed a number of basic problems and I have tried to get some action from the Government to acknowledge the problems and to put them right. Finally through my MP, Sir Julian Lewis, I have received a response from the Government Minister responsible for the Met Office, Lord Vallance, which I forwarded to Ray. He has published the letter from me and the response here:

Vallance’s Vanishing Act: Official Response to Stationgate | Tallbloke's Talkshop

Far from acknowledging any shortcomings by the Met Office, Lord Vallance has issued a stout defence of everything the Met Office has done. This is not a surprise to me as I would not expect him to accept any criticism of his own people, but in doing so he is endorsing some very poor practice.

What is needed is a truly independent examination into what is going on at the Met Office, but how can this be done?
