Below is a link to a most interesting article by Andrew Montford. He claims that we are so far into the use of renewables that the high cost of electricity is already "baked in" and the only way out is to abandon them altogether, which he admits is such a drastic option that it looks impossible, as there are so many contracts and treaties that we are signed up to. It looks like we have at least 10 to 20 years of high cost electricity and who knows beyond that? What is more we will continue to be uncompetitive compared to places that have not gone down this road such as India, China, the USA and many others.
