BURN WASTE FOR 20% OF ENERGY NEEDS

This article explains that we could obtain 20% of our energy needs by burning waste rather than recycling by 2020. An interesting thought in the current economic climate when we are creating mountains of waste for which there is no market to recycle.

  1. Though the fuel needs will be reduced by 20% by burning the waste what will happen to the environment with all the poisoneous gases released?

  2. Modern incinerators have strict controls to prevent any poisonous gases being released. CO2, of course is not harmful, as it is essential to all green plants.
