It is so easy to sign a petition these days with just a click of a mouse and I guess we have all been cornered by someone who shoves a bit of paper in front of us and without thinking about it our signature is on there. We forget all about it and nothing further happens. I hope that is what happened to Andy Burnham when he signed up to the completely mad bill to cut the UK's use of hydrocarbons by 90% within ten years. Luckily there were enough sane MPs to ensure the bill did not pass into law. It is though a worrying sign that our new PM did not think a bit harder before making such a ridiculous decision.
